Surgical removal of a noninvoluting congenital hemangioma using a modified sub-brow flap

چکیده
NICH: noninvoluting congenital hemangioma M anagement of infantile hemangiomas has recently undergone significant changes because of the introduction of systemic treatment with propranolol. However, this approach has failed in other types of vascular tumors, such as congenital hemangiomas, in which surgery remains the first-choice treatment. In this case report, the surgical removal and reconstruction of a glabellar congenital hemangioma is described. Among the surgical techniques available for large glabellar surgical defects, the sub-brow flap represents a suitable option rarely described in the literature. A subtle modification of this technique is performed in this case report.

متن کاملCongenital hemangiomas and infantile hemangioma: missing links.
Rapid postnatal growth and slow involution in childhood characterize the common infantile hemangioma. There are other rare vascular tumors that present fully grown at birth and behave quite differently, as designated by the acronyms: rapidly involuting congenital hemangioma (RICH) and noninvoluting congenital hemangioma (NICH). RICH and NICH have similarities in appearance, location, size, equa...
